Economic and institutional aspects of influence introduction of digital currency as a payment instrument funds for corruption and the shadow economy
This article examines the economic and institutional aspects of introducing a central bank digital currency (CBDC) as a means of payment. Based on international academic literature and foreign experience, the study assesses the impact of CBDC on payment system efficiency, financial inclusion, and banking sector stability. Key challenges and risks associated with CBDC implementation are also identified. The findings provide general conclusions regarding the gradual introduction of a digital soum in Uzbekistan.
